The Lakers were on fire Sunday - almost as much as the Nuggets’ pre-game bus ride - as Kobe & Crew clobbered Denver 128-114. Pau Gasol notched 36 points in the win, his first-ever playoff victory - which isn’t too hard to fathom, since the Spaniard’s previous 12 visits were with the Grizzlies.
While Gasol was having a gas, Carmelo Anthony wasn’t having as good of a time. As the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER reveals, some Staples Center spectators reminded #15 of his recent adventures behind the wheel:
Lakers fans started a “D-U-I” chant with Anthony at the foul line, leaving Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss wide-eyed with her hand covering her mouth.
Well, now, that wasn’t very nice - seems a bit extreme. To ‘Melo, it must have felt like a slap in the face.
Check that - this must have felt like a slap in the face:

As for Jeanie’s response to the chant, Lakers faithful were just returning the favor, as they had their own wide-eyed reaction when they first saw her Playboy pictorial.
Having Jeanie as his one & only (we think) girlfriend, how could Phil Jackson’s career ever go to the dogs? Well, besides this way.
Anyway, we wonder what Nuggets fans will verbalize in return when the Lake Show shows up for Game 3 at the Pepsi Center. They could always remind Mr. Bryant of how one of his previous Colorado visits turned out.
