After announcing Wednesday he would be attending Auburn, Cyrus Kouandjio changed his mind today and has made it official:
He will join his brother Arie as a football player at the University of Alabama.
Kouandjio made the announcement on his personal Facebook account while Kristen Kenney of Scout.com reported Saturday, “After spending the weekend discussing his decision with family, Kouandjio faxed over his letter of intent to Alabama earlier today.”
Tommy Deas of the TUSCALOOSA NEWS also reported on Twitter: “Cyrus Kouandjio’s father confirms to Tidesports.com that he has signed with Alabama.”
In a message announcing his intentions to spurn Auburn for Alabama, Kouandjio posted this note to his Facebook account Saturday:
“Thanks for all the love and support from the state of Alabama. . love all the new relationships i have made throughout this process. . but at the end of the day. . ima keep the fam together and i must say. . . . ROOLLLLL TTIIIDDDEEE!!!”
His brother Arie responded to the message from his own personal Facebook account with: “After much consideration, my brother has decided to take his talent to the University of Alabama Looks like my lil bro is going to roll (tide af)ter all!! ROLL TIDE ROLL ….”
So what caused Cyrus to change his mind?
I don’t know, but perhaps had Pat Dye’s daughter gone with Thoreau instead of Emerson, things might’ve been different.
