Great Scott! To promote new “Back To The Future”-themed footwear, Kobe Bryant rolled up to the shoe’s premiere in the only vehicle appropriate for such a gala event - a time-traveling DeLorean.

AUTOBLOG (by way of AUTOFIENDS [by way of HYPEBEAST]) races up 1.21 gigawatts of star power, as the Lakers stud showed up last week at Santa Monica’s UNDFTD shoe store. (Get it? Undefeated! Shoes! Now that’s smart marketing!)

The new shoes in question are Nike’s McFly Hyperdunks. If the shoe style sounds familiar, these are the same pair that are featured in Kobe’s famous Aston Martin-leaping viral video (which in turn inspired Kenny Smith’s not-so-successful sequel).

Kobe hung around the store for a few minutes, posing for photos & autographing footwear for the first 10 fortunate consumers to purchase a pair. Then Bryant was off to new adventures - who knows where & who knows when!

Does this latest shoe release mean a new YouTube clip will be popping up soon - featuring Kobe trying to jump the DeLorean, only to be zapped back in time to accidentally make out with his own mom?

Well, it’d be just another notch on Bryant’s bedpost.
