The house is worth $287,400 as a structure to be lived in, year after year. However, as a training device for the Fire Dept, it's worth considerably less, since they could build a similar, albeit stripped down structrure for training for quite less. So maybe the IRS ought to allow a deduction to the Herbstreit's for what it would cost the Fire Dept to build a similar, mock up.
