Kenny Rogers Song a Big Hit With The England Rugby Team

RUGBY TEAM TAKES A GAMBLE WITH KENNY ROGERS SONG: England’s rugby team knows when to hold ‘em, as the squad has adopted one of Kenny Rogers’ tunes during their World Cup run:

Rugby Kenny Rogers

The LONDON TELEGRAPH reports how the English players have been listening to “The Gambler” before hitting the pitch, and using the song in post-game sing-a-longs.

And now the singer has picked a fine time to recognize the team, as Rogers plans on recording a good-luck video message for them before they face France on Saturday.

The crush on Kenny began when rugby player Matt Stevens started playing the song on his guitar in the team’s hotel. His teammates were especially taken by the tunes’ chorus: “You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away, and know when to run.”

Guess it’s better than using “Coward of the County”.

Or “Lady”.
