The ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS reports that Jack Elway has committed to Arizona State. The Cherry Creek High senior and fruit of the famed Denver QB’s loins will be arriving in Tempe next season.

The move is a bit of a family affair. Jake will be under the tutelage of coach Dennis Erickson, who was an assistant under Jack’s grandfather, Jack Sr., at San Jose State.

And that’s not all. ASU’s recruiting coordinator is Matt Lubick, son of Colorado State coach Sonny Lubick. Sonny worked under Jack Sr. during their days at Stanford.

Dear ol’ Dad - who’s also Jake’s QB coach at Cherry Creek - also spent his collegiate career in Palo Alto, although not at the same time as Grandpa.

With an Elway leading the team, let’s hope the Sun Devil Marching Band knows when to go on the field.
