After brushing over the boredom of TBS’s baseball boys, THE MIAMI HERALD catches up with Jobless Joe. Since having his contract bought out by ESPN, Theismann said he hopes to be back in an NFL booth or studio in 2008. In the meantime, Joe says he’ll be keeping busy with his “other business interests“.

And what does Joe think of this year’s Theismann-free edition of Monday Night Football?
“It has become a three-hour Tony Kornheiser show. When I was let go, they explained they wanted more of an issue show and less about football. They’ve accomplished that.”

But Joe may have a point. The same thing happened to pro wrestling - less about the physicality, more about the glamor & glitz.
