We all knew it was coming. Once the Cowboys lost, temperamental receiver Terrell Owens would find something to complain about. And he didn’t disappoint, bemoaning that 17 pass attempts his way in the Redskins game was not enough.
However, T.O. later said that he was just blowing off steam and didn’t mean to rail against QB Tony Romo. So, is this the last that we’ll hear on the matter? Of course not - especially when it’s Jerry Jones’ turn to chime in.
The FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM reports that the Cowboys owner is taking the side of his star receiver - and believes T.O. needs to get more balls:
“He’s a terrific playmaker, and we want to get him the ball,” Jones said Friday morning on his radio show KTCK/1310 The Ticket. “We’ll overly try to get him the ball. There’s no question about that. We should. It ought to open things up for other places on the offense.”
Tony didn’t hear you, Jerry - he’s too busy jewelry shopping with Jessica.
But it’s always good for the owner to meddle in his team’s playcalling. Look how well it’s worked out in Oakland.
