Jeff Merron of ESPN.com pops the top on St. Louis’ brand-new Busch Stadium, with an elaborate rating system that measures the ballpark’s level of fan-friendliness and overall ambience.
The stadium does have some unique features, including an enormous smoker that operates around the clock, grilling 350 pounds of meat every 10 hours.
That’s one of only two ’round the clock ballpark smokers in MLB. The other: Jim Leyland.
There’s one thing that will never change at a St. Louis ballpark, regardless of the amenities. It’s the hottest place on the planet on a summer afternoon.
Actually, make that the second hottest place on the planet - after my former University of Georgia summer school dorm room.
