I was just sent this statement from Dave Williford of the Oregon Sports Information Department:
JAMERE HOLLAND DISMISSED FROM DUCKS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM
EUGENE – University of Oregon wide receiver Jamere Holland has been dismissed from the school’s football program for a violation of team rules, according to head coach Chip Kelly Sunday.
In two seasons, Holland had accumulated 17 catches for 252 yards and two touchdowns, with the Pacoima, Calif., junior accounting for 13 receptions for 199 yards and two TDs in 10 appearances in 2009.

Holland earlier today posted two profane Facebook messages, the first of which indicated Oregon football player Kiko Alonso had been kicked off the team after being arrested for DUI on Saturday. In that entry, Holland appeared to question the decision-making of Kelly in regards to Alonso’s supposed dismissal.
But Ken Goe of the PORTLAND OREGONIAN reports today that Alonso has not been kicked off the team.
Holland would’ve been a senior this season, but was not expected to challenge for a starting role on the team at the wide receiver position.
Last week Oregon players LaMichael James and Rob Beard were charged by police with misdemeanor assault of females and the status of a Jan. 24 theft allegation against current Oregon starting quarterback Jeremiah Masoli is pending, with the case currently being reviewed by a grand jury.
Ugly last three weeks for the Ducks to say the least, which might explain Kelly’s swift action regarding Holland today.
UPDATE: George Schroeder of the EUGENE REGISTER-GUARD has more analysis on the Holland dismissal and the status of Alonso.

Just goes to show that if you’re a second string or third string player you are easily replaced. If the starting WR would have said this he may have gotten suspended for a game or two. Oh well, looks like he wasn’t exactly a stud player anyways.

1st off, Masoli has not been arrested, charged, or even named a “person of interest” in that case. On the contrary, there is video evidence of him sitting in a bar on campus when the supposed crime occurred, so Masoli will have none of the above happen.
2nd, Embry was dismissed from the team prior to the thefts, so that had nothing to do with his dismissal, involved or not.
3rd, *** SPORTSBABBLER *** Holland WAS a starter early this season, but due to the fact he can’t seem to act right or even go to class enough to pass the MINIMUM requirement of 6 credits (2 classes of 3 credits) he lost his starting job, then got suspended, still can’t figure it out & is now dismissed. I say he’s had more than enough chances, especially knowing he was already dismissed from one program and had something to prove.

Oh btw Brooks, this is my 1st visit to your site, some of your “sources” seem based on unsubtantiated hearsay, and gives the appearance that your reporting is shoddy at best. You should be sure of your “facts” before dragging peoples names through the mud.

Nice spin Seymour. Very impressive. Golf clap from me. Whoregon is full of a bunch of thugs. Masoli’s case is in front of the grand jury and there’s rumors that there’s gonna be some baaaad news for the little duckies regarding Masoli’s case coming out soon.

He’ll be back on the team in 6 months after Kelly says “He’s learned his lesson.”

It’s nice to see him get a fine education from the U of O. His writing skills are awesome.
I wish I could be just as talented as him.
Maybe know that he is off the team he can go to class!!! Cause I’m sure it’s hard to do that when your playing football.
By the way, I loved the Whoreagon name, never heard that before. Is I Da Ho it’s sister state?

Does the University of Oregon really have students that can’t form a complete sentence? I can’t even understand what he is saying enough to get the racism part.

LOL @ julie for bagging on the writing skills of a U of O student and then confusing “know” with “now.”
And UofO?, take it from me (an Oregon grad), some/most of us can write comprehensibly. I agree with your sentiment though; that any adult would write like this is shameful.
Good riddance to Holland as far as I’m concerned.
