Jags DB Nelson On Tom Brady: “He Ain’t All That”

Reggie Nelson

Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports does his best to stir things up today as he reports the reaction of Jaguars’ DB Reggie Nelson on the record breaking 26-for-28 passing performance last night of Tom Brady against Jacksonville (in a 31-20 victory).

Nelson: “He ain’t all that … He’s all right. It was a check down game. Anybody can go 26-of-28 in a dump-down game.

Thanks to Wetzel, that’s when the fun started, as the reporter then scurried off to the Patriots locker room to get reax from Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth.

Randy Moss, when asked about Nelson’s comments, “What? It wasn’t impressive? When you lose you’re going to say things that (are) really inappropriate. You’re talking about the MVP, that’s Tom Brady.

I’m not even going to respond to that.

Sounds like he already did. Amazingly, Nelson somehow succeeded in the impossible - making Moss sound like the voice of reason.

Donte Stallworth added, “I can’t say what I want to say. This is the NFL. If this was high school, yeah (it might not be ‘all that’).

Keep in mind that both of Brady’s incompletions were catchable balls, including a blatant drop by Wes Welker. He could’ve easily have been perfect.

Meanwhile, Mike Florio of PRO FOOTBALL TALK had more amusing news about the game, reporting before kickoff yesterday that, “One of our moles in Foxboro tells us that the Jags have brought extra tech guys to the game to ensure that there aren’t any unforeseen ‘glitches’ with the communications equipment.

The Jaguars, as we hear it, are particularly concerned about the coach-to-quarterback communication equipment, which has a habit of going dead for road teams at Gillette Stadium.

Jack Del Rio brought in the Geek Squad. Perfect.
