Indiana Fans Bury Sampson, Praise Erin Andrews

Perhaps helped by the fact that there is nothing else to do in Bloomington, Indiana (cheap shot, not sorry), fans showed up before midnight — Friday — for a chance to be on ESPN’s GameDay (denoted here by a totally unrelated ““Gameday girl“).

They had some harsh things to say about Kelvin Sampson.

But they like Erin Andrews. Imagine that. From the INDY STAR:

‘It’s a great thing to have GameDay here,’ said Tyce Carmichael, a senior from Bloomington. ‘Pretty much the feeling I get is, you don’t come here and cheat. We’ve got a great program, high standards, and we’re taking a chance on a guy who’s under investigation. You’re already under scrutiny. You don’t cheat.’

Elliott Sweitzer, a senior from La Porte, held up a sign often seen where GameDay goes, one asking sideline reporter and former University of Florida dancer Erin Andrews to marry him. Sweitzer and his friend, Andy Barton, a junior from Evanston, Ill., said Andrews would be the perfect wife because she’s attractive and can talk about sports. “She’s the finest reporter in sports today,” Sweitzer said. Sweitzer said his group arrived at 6:30 a.m. and waited in the cold until 8 a.m. when IU officials allowed fans into the building.

Maybe they would have had better luck if they had poured on the charm like the kids from Michigan State.

She’s not real, sirs.
