‘Bull Durham’ Sequel Could Soon Be At The Plate

There have been plenty of great baseball movies made throughout history, and for a lot of people one of the best ever made was Bull Durham. Personally, I don’t include Bull Durham in my list of the greatest baseball movies because I don’t consider it a baseball movie. In reality it’s just a chick flick disguised as a baseball movie, as it’s more about the love triangle between Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, and Kevin Costner than it is about baseball.

I do realize that there are people who think differently about the flick, though, and those folks are going to be pretty happy to hear this. Apparently there have been plans for a sequel to the movie for a while, and those plans are finally starting to get off the ground.

From THE NEW YORK POST:

THE long-awaited sequel to “Bull Durham” is finally getting off the ground. A spy tells us Kevin Costner recently met with director Ron Shelton at Trader Vic’s in LA to discuss reprising the role of carousing catcher Crash Davis from the 1988 baseball flick. Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon are also expected to return as pitcher Nuke LaLoosh and baseball groupie Annie Savoy, who are now married and owners of a Major League team that Costner manages. Kristen Kerr, recently seen on “Dexter,” is being eyed as one of Crash’s love interests, our insider said.

Since there’s a mention of Kristen Kerr possibly being one of Costner’s love interests, I’m pretty sure that means that the sequel will also be a chick flick in disguise as well. Instead of Kerr, though, may I suggest giving the role to Leryn Franco? She can be the wife of one of Costner’s players whom he begins an illicit affair with, leading to all sorts of hijinks, and she’d definitely give men more reason to go see the movie.

Real reason for this movie: Another 5 years of Indian Casino and AA ballpark gigs for Costner's band.

This should be dubbed a horror movie if there's any nude scenes of Susan Sarandon or Kevin Costner.

This sequel should be just as good as the latest Indiana Jones movie.

This actually might be pretty good, if all the actors & director are back.
