CONSPIRACY THEORY - CUBAN BEHIND COUTURE UFC BOLT? Kevin Iole has an update on the aftermath of Randy Couture’s decision to leave the UFC. A big reason last week that Couture claimed he was bolting the Dana White-led promotion was he couldn’t fight preferred opponent Fedor Emelianenko. Emelianenko is under contract to M-1 Mix Fight promotion which is now, apparently part-owned by Mark Cuban.

So did Cuban buy into M-1 and help sign Emelianenko knowing that the move would likely lead to Couture’s departure from UFC? It might be a moot point as UFC Prez Dana White will probably go to court to force Courture to complete his contract (four fights worth $17M) or retire to more cameos in B-movies on the sub-continent.
