HS Track Coach Double Faults With 17-Year-Old

So for those of you keeping score at home, here’s what a 35-year-old high school track coach from Ohio did when caught in the back seat of a car in a state of undress with a 17-year-old girl on Tuesday. A: Claimed that he was also 17! (fail) B: Argued with cops. (fail) C: Tried to run away. (tasered & fail)

Not a good night for Northmont High School teacher and track coach Loren P. Meadows, who was arrested by Clinton County sheriffs deputies early Tuesday morning after he was discovered parked with a 17-year-old Englewood girl, both partially undressed.

From the ENGLEWOOD INDEPENDENT:

“Initially, when asked his age, he (Meadows) tried to pass himself off as being 17 as well,” said Lt. Pete Smith of the sheriff’s office. “With the help of the onboard computers that we have now, we were able to pull up his age and Social Security number and we found he was 35-years-old.”

Smith said Meadows, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was asked to step out of the vehicle.

“He didn’t comply with those orders and he became combative,” Smith said. “They (deputies) got one handcuff on him and at that time he resisted arrest. He was drive-stunned with a taser to comply. After he was drive-stunned he complied and was arrested.”

Of course when the two were taken to the station, the real truth came out. As you may have guessed, they’re in love! Oh, and Mr. Meadows is also a newlywed. Classy.

During interviews with deputies, Meadows and the teen said she was a member of his Northmont track team and had served as a baby sitter for his family. Meadows told deputies “the relationship started with hugs and kisses before meets,” and the two had been part of a sexual relationship for the previous four months, including during her time as a Northmont student. They were waiting to have intercourse until the teen turned 18, the report said.

Both denied to deputies they were doing any type of sexual activity on Tuesday “due to my arrival,” a sheriff’s deputy wrote in his report.

The teen refused to provide a written statement “due to her love for Mr. Meadows,” the report said.

Meadows had been married exactly one month when he was arrested Tuesday, according to county records.

Meadows is currently in jail, and the school put him on administrative leaving pending a hearing, blah blah. I’m just so surprised that it wasn’t a female teacher and a 15-year-old boy that I don’t know what else to say here. I feel the world has somehow let me down today.
