Last week, the day before he was cut loose by the Sixers, I reported Iverson had hosted a nightclub event with rap mogul Jermaine Dupri in Charlotte.
Iverson had previously taken leave from the team to attend to his sick four-year-old daughter Messiah. Also last week Iverson’s wife Tawanna filed for divorce.

Honestly, I cannot make out sh*t from that photo. I’m a rabid AI hater and I called him out for going to the “scholarship presentation” deal with Jermaine Dupree, but if you’re going to call out a loser like AI, you need better evidence.
I can say assuredly that we should not be surprised if the above story is indeed true. If we learned anything, a tiger never changes its stripes (no pun on Tiger).
And no, Tawanna did not tell me that!

Now comes the story that The Answer (by the way, what ever was the question?) reportedly has alcohol and gambling problems. So the media and the horrible people on this site mocking AI for not being with his “sick” daughter are now heartless and unfeeling bastards.
Come on! I always marvel when someone of remote fame or talent falls off their pedastel, there is always an excuse such as he has a drinking problem , he’s a sex addict, he has a gambling proble, etc. Instead of taking personal responsibility and saying, “I fu**ed up and I lied to the team that pays my salary by saying my duaghter’s sick when in fact I wanted to party and rub up and down on co-eds.”
Honesty would be the most refreshing thing that AI could display. The next time he’s honest would be the first time. So hang on for the media games to come. AI, you may have an alcohol and gambling problem. Get help for it. But don’t use that as your excuse. Learn from Tiger and come clean. I may not like you still, but at least I’ll respect you.

I love how it doesn’t even occur to you that drinking problems or drug problems may be the reason that celebrities spiral downwards in the first place.
As sick as it sounds, if AI is truly an alcoholic, it is not uncommon for alcoholics to lie in order to drink. In this case, he took a truth, which is that his daughter is sick, and immediately saw it as an excuse to drink more. His brain sends signals to rationalize taking the rest of the year off to drink, which he does. That’s the alcoholism taking control, not AI. Once someone truly has developed alcoholism, they are powerless to stop those urges. Indeed, the first step of the 12 step program is to admit you’re powerless over alcohol.
Alcoholism and drug addictions are just that - addictions. They can sneak up on you and before you know it, you’re hooked. The urge to use the drug becomes confused within the brain chemistry with the urge to survive. Therefore, the urges and compulses to use are more powerful than you could ever, ever imagine, and the addict goes on autopilot and uses without even thinking about it.
So it’s silly to scoff at someone with a drinking or gambling problem if you are as completely uneducated as you are about addiction, Sneaker.

First: the photo is totally undefinable…it’s just a big blur of whoever doing whatever.
Second: I feel bad for Al Iverson. He obviously needs/deserves help, and bad press just is not going to give him that.
I think he needs support and some positive light to help get him back on track.

Thanks for the pop psychology definition of drug, alcohol, gambling, and by extention, sex addition. Does my previous post make me uneducated about addition and addictive behavior? I say to you: NO!
The point of my previous post was for AI to accept responsibility for his actions. He needs to do that. After all, to quote your illustrious post, “Indeed, the first step of the 12 step program is to admit you’re powerless over alcohol.” He has yet to do that and until then, he is fair game and a wide ass target for his atrocious behavior, whether you believe it is justified due to his “illness.”
So until he comes clean ala Jimmy Swaggart, I’ll continue to assail him for his actions; and by God, I’ll be justified.

All I have to say is if you dont know him personally,how can you judge him and talk about him.He’s a freakn celebrity and the media will go out of its way to get press off him.Bet how much they get paid to help slander his name and his career???His child is sick and during this time of his life ,he just needs all the e is a way of handling certain situations like this…But playing spades in a bar is not bad,what would you rather see him doing drugs and beating ppl in the streets.LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!!
