(Miami Heat basketball - plenty of great seats still available!)
Jorge Sedano of 790 THE TICKET reports that the Miami Heat is doing just that. Apparently throwing in the towel for this year, the NBA club is looking toward the future, trying to convince south Florida spectators to park their posteriors in American Airlines Arena for 2008-09.
And to do so, the team pulled out the big guns for the big pitch.
Dwyane Wade, Shawn Marion, Alonzo Mourning, and Jason Williams were among the Heat players on injured reserve that were put to work in order to sell, sell, sell.
During halftime of last night’s game against the Hornets - whaddya know, another loss - Wade & crew headed up to the Heat’s executive offices and manned the phone banks to take in calls for season seat selections. Joining the players on the phones were also members of the Heat’s dance team.
We’re sure the phones lines were lighting up. What can compare to the thrill of handing over credit card information to Udonis Haslem?
