The ORLANDO SENTINEL has the sad news that Roger Clemens won’t be participating in the “ESPN The Weekend festivities at Walt Disney World February 29-March 2 as previously scheduled.”

The network released a statement today that apparently came from Clemens: “Given some strong feelings in some circles today, I believe my current participation could be a distraction. The event should be an occasion for fun.“

Those dratted “some circles” will get you every time! And the only “distraction” for us would be Debbie Clemens flexing her abs - and the prospect of a quick pectoral peep from her.

We wonder how many thousands of tickets ESPN and Disneyworld sold after flogging Clemens’ weekend appearance in promotional ads the past few months. Or how much the network saved by not having to pony up his appearance fee.
