Well, this is awkward. It hasn’t even been a month since the Erin Andrews peephole video sent the mainstream media into a self-righteous feeding frenzy denouncing the lascivious nature of evil exploitative bloggers, but that apparently isn’t enough to stop GQ from publishing a sporty, sexytime photo shoot with Andrews taken earlier this year. Hey, it’s football and they’ve got magazines to sell, right?
Sure, this isn’t exactly Touchstone Pictures planning to release an airplane-terrorism-themed movie on September 21, 2001. Still, considering Andrews’ newfound aversion to Britney Spears-type attention getting, the timing of this is a little unfortunate for the chaste and innocent Ms. Andrews.

In a quaint little anachronism highlighting the woefully slow lag time of traditional print media, GQ’s September issue also features an interview with Andrews that features exactly zero insight into anything at all about either her personal or professional life. Strange coming from someone who just wants to be a journalist, but perhaps GQ was too busy putting together this hard-hitting video pictorial:

that looks like an intro to an adult movie.

this chick is hands down the most overrated person on the planet, she’s talentless, their are far better looking women but every time she coughs it makes news.
Ive never heard anyone outside of the media talk about her
1:47 pm on August 18th, 2009
I second what FarveHater said; completely overrated and for no apparent reason.
2:12 pm on August 18th, 2009
I third FavreHater and kncannon, I see much hotter women at the grocery store everyday. She is flat-butted (new word I invented) and not very talented. She is exactly who she does not(?) want to be, the Britney Spears of journalism. Hey Hanna Montandrews, go away.
2:13 pm on August 18th, 2009
Don’t worry. As soon as a prettier woman comes on the scene, people will stop talking about her.
I don’t know why she’s so annoying to people. She’s not that bad. I don’t know. If an announcer, reporter, or whoever is bad, I just tune them out and watch the game.
4:50 pm on August 18th, 2009
You guys are all so full of sh*t - any of you would crawl naked through crushed glass just for the opportunity to talk with her and you know it - otherwise go back to your supermodel wives and quit surfing the net for pseudo-porn…

HawkeyeHater, seriously I dont get the Erin Andrews Hype
maybe its because I live in cali and you can see a chick hotter than that working at a sizzler on a monday in newport beach..who knows?
But the often lazy media seems to hop on one person and ride the names until people show they dont care,
Example: Dan Patrick brings up the model Brookyln Deckers name up every day,…no ones ever heard of this chick except if you listen to his show.
and Joel you asked “I don’t know why she’s so annoying to people.”
its because her name gets crammed down our throats, let us tell the media who we the public thinks deserves this attention, the media tries to force us into loving and drooling over her, thats why,….but ESPN will force her to be a sports sex symbol, but when it backfires and some guy over steps the law and videotapes her, ESPN acts like they had no part in creating her into the victim that she ultimately became.
I’ts like you telling your wife to wear a low cut shirt, and as soon as some guy is drooling over your wifes chest, you want to fight…not realizing you created that problem and open the door to the opportunity that might happen in the first place.

FarveHater, Right on!!!!!, I could not have said it better.
Like Megan Fox, The public thought she was hot, then we didn’t care.
When the public didnt care the media crammed her down our throats, its like everyone that performed on American Idol, they force us to care.

Right on FavreHater, well said.
I’m tired of Hanna Montandrews and everyone saying she is the hottest thing going. I don’t live in Cali, but here in Houston we see hot chicks year round. Montandrews is not all that. Looking better than Christine Brennan and Selena Roberts does not make you hot. It just makes you tolerable.
It’s the WNBA affect. If I like the WNBA, I’ll find it, I’ll watch it. Just don’t beat me over the head with it telling me is great.

I have to give her credit, coming from a guy who does not like Skinny Blondes, she works that business outfit, smiles, exudes personality, and the music is perfect for the shoot.
I’m pleasantly surprised.

Ditto what FavreHater said in both posts. I don’t get the Erin Andrews hype either. I, too, see much better looking women in restaurants, at work, and other places.
Hell, there are other women at ESPN who are much better looking, including Suzy Kolber, who has transformed herself into a hotter version of her always pretty self in recent years, and Bonnie Bernstein, who I guess is still with ESPN, yet, we’ve hardly seen her on their air in recent months. Also, Wendi Nix is a hundred times hotter than that live Barbie doll. Yet, Andrews is constantly forced down our throats like she is the hottest thing going. Plus, the three mentioned are a hundred times more talented and knowlegeable than Andrews. BTW, how do each of them feel about the publicity Andrews is getting, especially after the nude videos were released?
Nice job, GQ, releasing the photoshoot not long after the nude videos of that overrated bimbo were released just to generate yet more undeserved pub for that live Barbie doll.

FavreHater and kncannon, I totally agree. If we’re talking ESPN and hot women, how about Colleen Dominguez, Suzy Kolber, Sage Steele and Cindy Brunson?

Lots of homosexuals commenting today… not that there’s anything wrong with that.

The thing about Erin Andrews is that she’s hot, but not so out-of-this-world hot that it’s alienating. She is girl-next-door hot, and she also reports on sports, hence the fascination.
There was an article a few years back on successful ad campaigns using good-looking - but not great-looking - women in ads. And the long and short of it is that good-looking can be more successful than great-looking, because it is easier to relate to.
4:53 pm on August 19th, 2009
What is all the excitement for over Erin Andrews? I could understand if it was Melissa Stark.
8:24 pm on August 19th, 2009
I eagerly await the Shelly Smith centerfold… I mean road map.
8:52 pm on August 19th, 2009
She is a cute girl, and I also like that she really seems to enjoy sports while doing a decent job. I do agree that she is a little overrated, as far as how the sports media and blogs cover her. It doesnt bother me one bit though to see articles about her all the time. I just skip most of them, but I do take a quick glance at the pictures.

erin is the perfect example of “situational hotness”. you know the kind where you’re at some conference or event and guys will be drooling over the hottest girl (among few) there. it’s wired into our dna.
12:32 pm on August 27th, 2009
Forget this women! so what she’s been seen naked, good for her. She’s no school girl, allowing pic of this nature to be taken of her. The BFG is that she’s not getting paid!
Besides I think Hannah Storm(hope the spellings correct) looks better.
