For example, the Chicago White Sox converted their former press box behind home plate into the Jim Beam Club, with theater seats and barstools going for over $300 a fanny. The new digs could add more than $4 million into the team’s coffers. Meanwhile, scribes for the Tribune and Sun-Times now sit two levels higher and a few sections farther down the first base line.
