Georgia City Outlaws Entertainment At Local Sports Bars So Falcons Games Escape Ban

GEORGIA CITY OFFICIALS BAN BAR ENTERTAINMENT; SO ATLANTA FALCONS TV BROADCASTS NOT AFFECTED: The ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION reports the city of Lilburn, Georgia, has outlawed local establishments from offering billiards and karaoke, in an effort to effectively eliminate “dance clubs, party clubs or honky-tonks (that) lead to more crime.”

Lilburn Bans Pool and Karaoke

The Lilburn police’s first enforcement stop? The “Sports Fan Bar & Grill”.

Mike Puglise, a lawyer representing the bar, said in February the new police chief visited the Sports Fan and said the liquor law had been tightened up to allow only “passive entertainment,” such as television.

The bar has since complied, removing pool tables and discontinuing Karaoke nights. And thankfully, thanks to the Atlanta Falcons defense, the watering hole doesn’t have to worry about local NFL TV broadcasts being anything more than “passive entertainment.”
