GEORGE STEINBRENNER H.S. WILL TEACH YOU SOMETHING: A new high school in Florida promises to be boss - since it’ll be named after The Boss.

Unfortunately, it’s not Springsteen. The TAMPA TRIBUNE reports that George Steinbrenner High School is scheduled for a 2009 opening in the Tampa suburb of Lutz.The Hillsborough County School Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to put the name of the Yankees owner on their latest center of learning. One board member referred to George as “a silent hero for a lot of children.”

Expect the teaching staff at Steinbrenner High to be fired & re-hired monthly, and for the principal to make expensive grabs for the smart kids at other schools.
