George Lucas’ Daughter Makes MMA Debut in NZ

Opening scroll: A long, long time ago (last weekend) in a galaxy far, far away (New Zealand), young Amanda Lucas was engaged in battle with forces from the Empire (ex-members of the British Empire, that is).

(Chewbacca, no! Oh, wait- Jar Jar Binks, maybe?)

That’s right - the daughter of “Star Wars” auteur George Lucas is now all grown up as an aspiring mixed martial arts fighter.

FAN IQ punches up the story from New Zealand’s STUFF that the heir to the Lucasfilm empire made her MMA debut in Auckland last Saturday, participating in the “Princesses of Pain” event. (Why didn’t CBS cover this bout instead?)

It may seem like some silly celebrity cameo, but the 27-year-old Amanda is no slouch, having spent many years training in kickboxing, ju-jitsu & Muay Thai. Also, “Powerhouse” Lucas was once a hip-hop teacher. Yeah, boyeeeee! Word to your mother! U can’t touch this! And so on.

Sadly, Yoda could have taught her a few more Jedi tricks, as Amanda lost to Nicole Kavanah in the evening’s opening bout.

Sure, the photo above presents “Powerhouse” in a none too flattering light, but with her fighting background - along with the presence of her bodybuilding fiance - we’ll keep the snarky comments about Amanda’s appearance to ourselves.

Still, Amanda shouldn’t be too discouraged about the defeat. The event organizers did honor her with a “gutsiest fighter” award at the end of the evening. And she always has her acting career to fall back on.

Amanda has appeared in all three of the recent “Star Wars” prequels. So that should be reason enough to want to punch her.

I thought one of those chicks in the Star Wars bar on Tatooine looked familiar.
