In 2001, the website placed Hardaway on their prestigious “Ten Most Likely Gay Ballers in the NBA.”
Author of the list, Randy Boyd, admits he “has no idea who’s gay and not gay in the NBA. This is pure speculation. Just for fun. Wishful thinking. You buying?”
So after dreaming about Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas and Vince Carter, he finally comes to Hardaway and writes: “Not too different from the bruthas one might run into at any black gay club on a Saturday night…. Not really trying to be tough. Just himself.”
Doth Timmy protest too much now? We find no evidence on his official sexual preference on his official website, only that it mentions “when he’s not training he’s either spending time with his family or playing the role model.“
