The GAINESVILLE SUN reports today that “Jamar Hornsby, a University of Florida football player, was released on his own recognizance after turning himself in Friday morning on charges of credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.”
“Hornsby, 21, was allegedly using a credit card issued to Ashley Slonina, a University of Florida student who died in an October 2007 motorcycle accident in which walk-on UF football player, Michael Guilford, also died.“
The Gator football player, who shockingly has been in trouble with law before, ran up charges on the deceased woman’s credit card for six months.
EDSBS adds, “How did Hornsby get the card? Simple. He took it when he was helping clean out the apartment with Joe Haden the day after the card owner died. Ashley Slonina. Joe Haden’s girlfriend.”
Yep, that’s about as heinous as it can get. Which is why the judge released Hornsby immediately on his own recognizance - only hours after he turned himself in this morning.
Well, if he does indeed go back to jail, at least Hornsby doesn’t have to worry about credit card death.

Hell, why not release him on his own recognizance? It’s not like he’s shown any ability to outsmart anyone except TransUnion.
