How many times have we said, “Florida State’s football team isn’t exactly a bunch of Rhodes Scholars?” We were wrong. Safety Myron Rolle just took every stereotype we had about FSU football, and eradicated them like he’s eradicating obesity and diabetes on a Seminole Reservation in Florida.
Oh yeah, he’s also studying the metabolic profile of stem and cancer cells, tutoring at-risk eighth graders, and is one of the best safeties in the nation and a shoe-in for the NFL Draft; unless he decides to study medical anthropology at Oxford. How many ways can I say this? Myron Rolle is better than you in every way.
“I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he heads off to Oxford in October,” [advisor Sally] Karioth said of Rolle. “He’s really an academic. There aren’t a lot of Renaissance kids out there. He really is.”
Rolle had his final interview in Birmingham yesterday evening, and as soon as he got the news he won, he flew to FSU’s pivotal game at Maryland. Arriving in the second quarter, he helped keep Florida State’s ACC title hopes alive.
Gosh, I thought I was in love when I posted about the hot jockey earlier today. But I was young and stupid. I didn’t know what love was until I read about Myron Rolle.
I just get the feeling he’s at the wrong school…
