PRESEASON CHEAP SHOT ON MCAMMOND A REAL DOWNIE: Steve Downie must have forgot it’s still just the preseason.

The Philadelphia Flyer is in serious trouble for a hit he made on an Ottawa Senator Tuesday night. Downie left his feet to put a check on Dean McAmmond, knocking him unconscious.

McAmmond was taken off of the Scotiabank Place ice on a stretcher, and although he was seem moving his arms and blinking his eyes, he did suffer a serious concussion.

640 TORONTO reports that the NHL has suspended Downie indefinitely for the hit. And McAmmond’s teammate Brian McGrattan has already vowed revenge on the Flyer when he returns to the ice.
