Harry did not make the original call over the Royals in 1980. Local radio was not allowed to broadcast then, networks only. The call that you hear him make on the tapes was done after the Series. Thank the Phillies fans for MLB changing the rules on broadcasting after 1980, we raised hell because we wanted to hear Harry and Whitey (Ashburn) broadcasting our boys.

No offense to Mr. Kalas, who is a great broadcaster, but the Voice of God to me will always be longtime NFL Films narrator John Facenda.

Jon Miller is not that bad. He's definitely no Vin Scully or Harry Kalas, but how many people are? Miller does a fine enough job for ESPN. And it could be worse. How would Chris Berman sound?
