		<description>Actually if you look at the dictionary definition of sport (basically a diversion) and the Olympic charter, it is clear that cheerleading, gymnastics and figure skating are sports. They are also competitions.

I'm sorry you don't like them.

Note that just because an activity isn't part of the Olympic Games, does not necessarily mean that it is not a sport (e.g., softball, rugby).</description>

The participants are most definately athletes, some of the worlds best.  But anything that is judged on appearance and obtuse definitions of who is better or more talented is a competition.  But my argument has nothing to do with this article in particular...so sorry about that.</description>
