Father: AU Decision Gave Kouandjio Nervous Tick

A mere five days ago I reported on what seemed to be a confident, self-assured Cyrus Kouandjio as he took his official visit to Auburn less than five days before signing day.

Cyrus Kouandjio

But when it came time to commit to the Auburn Family® Kouandjio, as noted by his father in an interview Wednesday, was so stressed that he had been suffering periodic, involuntary nervous twitches.

After Cyrus’ less-than-enthusiastic commitment to Auburn, Jean-Claude Kouandjio talked to Kristen Kenney of FOX Sports’ Scout.com about what the decision-making process had done to his son:

“If you see the button on his lips, it’s a form of stress. He’s been going through that for three days. It was a very heavy decision.”

For a program that touts its family atmosphere, ironic that Kouandjio’s consideration of his own family seems to be at the root of his indecision. (His father told Kenney today that he would prefer Cyrus join brother Arie at the University of Alabama.)

Of his commitment to Auburn, Cyrus reiterated to Kenney during the interview that “there’s doubt in my mind.”

For the full interview, visit FOX Sports’ Scout.com website.

Cyrus saw through all of the BS that the Barner staff is spewing and rethinking his decision with a level head. Most recruits only commit to AU based on the hype that the Trooper Taylor thug emits during visits. It’s not hard for the rest of the world to see through it.

What is that? Whatever point you are getting at doesn’t even make sense.

Why don’t you post the full interview where Cyrus said everything felt right about Auburn. He’s obviously torn between what is best for him and what his family wants.

Haha, And most recruits only commit to Bama based on the car Saban gives them. That parking lot looks like a car show. Ask any player in the SEC.

Saban’s a snake! First the one UT recruit comes out on ESPN Radio and says that Bama media are trying to influence him, the Saban gets the AU tiger limo (whatever that was called) banned last year, now using a recruits dad Peaches to get his son to switch from AU to Bama…(sounds like cecil newton) but this time a different Alabama university

What are you talking about barner? Trooper taylor is the most low down lying, conniving sack of junk i have ever seen. He deliberately places lies and false hopes ina players heads and causes them to be confused, thus tricking them into going to the barn or stressing out before they see through the BS he is spewing. Saban is the most upstanding recruiter out there, in fact his policy is that if any coach negative recruits, they will be fired. At auburn, if any coach doesnt negative recruit, they will get fired…..Cyrus has more integrity than joining that circus of deceit and hypocrisy down on the plains.

@Tim you sir are a moron. I went to Bama and attend games there every weekend in the fall, id like to see this parking lot your mention. Seeing that i am friends with an Associate AD i walk through “said” lot, nothing there out of the ordinary, unlike bingo machines and 200,000 church donations.

Deadlines are a bitch. So are Saturdays in the Fall. College will teach him that.

For now, he’s not in college, so he kinda gets a pass.

But man, you can believe Auburn is innocent all you want, but surely you can understand, now more than ever, why a star recruit’s parents would have concerns about that choice.

Lot of conflict with his bro at Bama and pops wanting him to go to Bama. Tough to reconcile. Can definitely see where he might have signer’s remorse.

Good to see the barn is back to the pat dye ways of “crootin”. Lets see, be a silent commit to the barn, don’t tell your parents til the last minute. Yeah thats good crootin. He was inticed by the strip club. They were able to steal from texas.

Tried to steal collins from us, they lied to calloway promised no more RBs would be signed and Mason commits early and calloway caught them.

Lied to the texas commit….also talk of payolla…yea they are all in.

It’s gonna be a great 30 for 30 documentary, that’s for sure. Winning the NC will be the turning point. Just like John Edwards, Auburn was not ready for the big time. From a PR standpoint, they have bungled everything from the start of the Newton Scandal, and continued to do so even after they won the NC. When you win a Heisman and a NC in the same year, the lights get a lot brighter and the questions and media scrutiny follow. Of course you wouldnt know that if it had been 50 years since you last won a NC. The Auburn SID should have been fired at the end of the season for the way he handled the Newton scandal, even if he did get a hand grenade (Newton Scandal) thrown in his lap one day.

Its only a matter of time now…if they think the Cam deal was bad just wait for the final act. Thats when the shit hits the fan and one person decides he’s not “ALL IN” anymore cause the FBI is involved and he is not real keen on spending a few years in prison. He starts singin like a canary, and the dominos start falling. Too many people are either involved or know and have known what is going on down there. The power, greed, and blinding desire to win at all cost attitude of a few wealthy older white men will end up ruining a lot of lives/careers and destroying a major college football program. “ALL IN”= complicit

Look, I will readily admit that I am an Alabama fan. I believe anyone who has read my posts the last few weeks will understand that the guise of being a “Duck” in light of them playing Auburn in the national championship was playful banter.

With that said, please stop personally attacking me. I bleed Crimson and White. I hope Cyrus comes to Alabama and don’t care if we have to pay to get him. Besides, Auburn’s day for probation is coming. Just wait and see. Our probation is nothing compared to what Auburn will get.

Everything Auburn does is shady and illegal, everything Alabama does is 100% pure, clean, and honorable. Bama fans will say CK got paid by Auburn if he chooses them… but will say he went with his heart and honor in choosing Bama.

It makes me nervous you’re able to drive, work, and vote with your reasoning skills.

I dont care if CK goes to the Barn or not because ya’ll are gonna be mediocre for the next 10 years. So if he goes to Auburn then good for him but while he will be sulking in mediocrity, his brother will be bathing in National Championship trophies. Prepare for dark days of probation and losses barners

    ###### NOTE——–the post above @ 12:00 pm on February 3rd, 2011 was not me.
Neither is the one from 10:03 am on February 3rd, 2011 .
The only comment I wrote in this story before now is from 10:36 pm on February 2nd, 2011

I love this blog site. I ENJOY it. I comment here a lot. It can be a lot of fun.

It’s kinda silly that someone would PRETEND to be me. I’m not that important, and no, I’m not an Alabama “fan,” I’m a Ducks fan, all the way.
It’s silly that I even have to MENTION that someone doesn’t have their own opinion and instead tries to sabotage mine, but still, I’m not going to change my name here because of it. It’s too bad you can’t have a unique name here in the comments section, but still, it’s a great site.

I respect ‘Bama, absolutely, and no, I don’t pretend to like Auburn either, in particular because of how I was treated by their fans in person for most of the 2010 season and, more importantly, at the BCS Title game.

But I also respect this kid if he DOES want to go to Auburn. I wouldn’t make that choice, but absolutely it’s got to be tough. Auburn has recruited well already this year, and in spite of losing a ton of talent to the NFL Draft, they could still be very, very strong in the SEC West the next few years.
Still, look at all the players they sent to the NFL this year alone. You don’t have to LIKE it if the kid goes to Auburn, but you have to respect his decision to “be his own man” and his chances of becoming an NFL prospect thanks to schools like Auburn and Alabama and even Iowa.

Don’t EVER let anyone rope me into the Alabama/Auburn rivalry. It’s fierce, and I get it, but I don’t own anything Crimson or….Orange? I respect Alabama, but come on, you don’t have to PRETEND to be me. Make your own opinion, your own choices, and your own voice.

Okay, this is starting to get ridiculous. Brooks, the post at 1:06 PM by the poster “Go Ducks” is not me.

I’ll explain this in brief simply for clarity’s sake: some fraternity brothers and I decided to visit this blog often and comment on the Auburn articles. Alex Hamilton and I are good buddies. I never meant for this to get out of hand. With all due respect, Roll Tide.

@ Above. Get over yourself. GET YOUR OWN USERNAME.

Why do you care about impersonating me? I’m a DUCKS fan. If you are an Alabama fan, Auburn fan, or whatever you are, why would you mess around with my name? What’s the point? I can’t tell if you are an Alabama fan, an Auburn fan, or just a creep, but it doesn’t matter—–I write my comments here to have a voice, not to stir things up with other people who comment here.
And I comment on a lot more than JUST the Auburn articles.
Who the heck is Alex Hamilton anyway?

Brooks doesn’t care if you impersonate me (or really, just use my name). He’s got better things to do. You should too. I might like to think Brooks reads our comments, and if he does, it’s more than we deserve.
Get your own opinion and your own name. I’m a DUCK FAN. If I WAS an Alabama fan, as I suspect you are, I would say so, and my name wouldn’t be the one I have chosen. You don’t like what I have to say? That’s fine. What do YOU think about the story?

But as long as I’m clear that I’m NOT AN ALABAMA FAN, and certainly not an Auburn fan either, people will read my comments just like yours—-with a grain of salt, and a little more to think about. The name doesn’t matter—-I might as well change it, it’s just simpler NOT to, so be an adult and get your own user name—–the thing that makes us all different is how we decide to act, and the opinions we have. You actually have good grammar skills compared to some commenters I’ve seen here—–use those skills, trust that your opinion DOES have worth, and let us hear it.

I’m speechless. I have no idea why someone finds it hilarious to impersonate me. I wish this website required users to login and use a password so that I could confirm this is my identity and showcase to everyone that this was a silly prank - a stunt by fraternity brothers - that has been blown out of proportion.

I am an ALABAMA fan. I will let the record show that and will not allow anyone to make any mistake about it, despite anything you have to say. I would give you my Facebook information and even tell you which fraternity I am a part of, if that’s what it would take. I’m a law student at Alabama. There, now try and find me.

Get your own username. Quit playing around and pretending to me any chance you get. It’s pathetic. You are clearly as intelligent (if not more intelligent) than I am, but I would appreciate respectful discourse, not unexpected or unwanted mocking. Roll Tide.
