The President has a speech “tic” or impediment or whatever you want to call it.

Listen to him give a speech or answer a question at a news conference. Whenever there is a “z” sound at the end of a word, Obama pronounces it as “s”.

Instead of fam-uh-leez (families) he says fam-uh-lease. Instead of tax-iz (taxes) - he says tax-iss. Instead of nay-shunz (nations) he says nay-shunsss.

And so instead of Wize - you heard Obama say Weiss. That’s just how he pronounces the guy’s name.

Please youtube an Obama speech and listen for 5 minutes. Listen closely. You will hear exactly what I’m talking about.

No he didn’t- he got it wrong, just like the story says.. I couldn’t care less about whether his professed love for sports is true or not- & I REALLY don’t care about the White Sox OR the Cubs- but the above statement is WRONG.. The audio clearly shows, in both instances, him messing up the names.. And yes, I did actually “take the time to listen to it”..

I can’t really explain why Obama might be having straight fact problems, but I highly doubt his proclaiming to be a White Sox fan is a political ruse. Being from Chicago I can tell you we have a name for people who claim to be fans of a baseball team but really have no clue, they’re called Cub fans

… so you took the transcription from the link you provided and ran with it? If you take the time to listen to the audio, you know he got it right. Instead, you go ahead and take the transcription of some guy (girl?) who probably doesn’t know there are two Sox teams in baseball.

By the way, here in good ol’ Chi-town, most people say “Cominskey” or “US Comiscullar”.

You’re right… thing is, I call myself a Braves fan… but I’ve lost interest in baseball, so I’m not sure I could name two players on the team now. Doesn’t mean I’m phony… just means me being a “fan” is relative… if they went to the series, I’d be watching big time.
