I lived in Chicago for almost 10 years. More than a few Chicagoans say “Cominskey.” There are people in Detroit who say “Fords.” It’s just a weird local thing.

If a politician is actually into sports, that’s fine. And some of them actually are. But if you’re not and you only push that image for political purposes. That’s creepy and dishonest. I think it’s possible that old timers call it by the incorrect pronuciation though. Most of us will never know. (And he does throw like a girl.)
