Ex-Oklahoma State TE Named in Rape Allegations

And we thought the worst news to come from Oklahoma State this week would be their refusal to hold a pregame handshake with Georgia. But it turns out a former Cowboys TE is facing rape allegations.

Jamal Mosley

Jamal Mosley had left the OSU program on Tuesday, due to what coach Mike Gundy called “personal reasons”. But those reasons were apparently tied to Mosley supposedly sexually assaulting two women at two different times.

The STILLWATER NEWS-PRESS reports that back in August, a woman asked for an emergency protective order against Mosley after he supposedly assaulted her. But since neither the woman nor Mosley showed up in court this week, the judge dismissed the order.

Now comes word that Mosley was named in another assault on a different woman back in March:

Both women alleged they were assaulted in an OSU residence hall. The investigating officer reported the woman said she was raped on March 6 but didn’t report the ordeal until March 9 because she was afraid. The woman declined to assist in prosecution because she didn’t want Mosley to lose an athletic scholarship, the officer reported. The case was then dropped.

Since Mosley wasn’t charged in either incident, he probably could have stayed on with the Cowboys if he chose to. But with the cloud of such allegations hanging over his head, it would have been a long season for Mosley - not to mention the distraction it could cause for his teammates.

But that doesn’t mean Mosley’s playing days are over. According to COLLEGE FOOTBALL TALK:

Mosley is said to be interested in transferring to Tennessee, and was reportedly supposed to visit the school yesterday. Needless to say, the Volunteers need to perform extreme due diligence in when it comes to allowing Mosley entry into the university if it were to come down to it.

Yes, because Tennessee has such an untarnished reputation to uphold.

Why didn’t OK ST kick Mosley off the team for his March transgression? Why was all of that swept under the rug?
