ESPN’s ace Sports Biz reporter Darren Rovell on the U.S. Postal Service’s sponsorship of Lance Armstrong: "The way I hear it, taxpayers are going postal over this relationship. The postal service lost more than $650M last year and they’re spending money on this sponsorship, and there is truly a question as to what kind of money is being spent.
"It could be to increase their brand, but I don’t know if it’s to do better business. Is it really going to get you to buy more stamps? Probably not."
USA TODAY reports Armstrong "received a $3.25M performance bonus from the USPS for winning the Tour."
