ESPN PR: Phillips “No Longer Working For ESPN”

ESPN PR guy Mike Soltys Tweets tonight:

Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN. His ability to be an effective rep of ESPN has been significantly & irreparably damaged.

So Phillips is officially gone from ESPN.

Did he get a fair shake? Based on his past, yes. If he hadn’t had the track record he had with the Mets, I doubt seriously ESPN would’ve fired him.

Will he get another job at some point? Probably. But it’s going to take time.

As for Brooke Hundley, it is remarkable that Phillips loses his job and she gets nary a slap. But the stigma of the media reportage is probably worse than anything ESPN could’ve done to her.

I’m shocked with her behavior after the breakup doesn’t get her let go of ESPN. She’s not stable! People might say she needs to seek professional help.

She’s gotta do the walk of shame down those halls everyday though.

ESPN’s lawyers are working on Brooke’s employment status, I’m sure.

I’m not sure who is “ugh”ier, Monica or Brooke but both could give an all-you-can-eat buffet a run for their money….

As to Brooke Hundley, the rule is:

“When you come across a big bucket of crazy, its best not to stir it.”

If something is irreparably damaged, isn’t that usually significant? Just saying….
