Eric Byrnes’ road trip to spring training hit a snag, as the Diamondbacks outfielder had the license plates from his “Shaggin’ Wagon” removed.
The ARIZONA REPUBLIC reports that Byrnes was pulled over by police on Monday as he was heading for Tucson. They informed him that he was cruising in his tricked-out conversion van with suspended plates.
Byrnes responded, “I didn’t believe I did, but they brought in a second cop to unscrew my license plate and take it away.”
Not the kind of screwing Eric exactly had in mind with his Shaggin’ Wagon. But the cops did let Byrnes finish his trip to Tucson Electric Park to rejoin his D-Back buddies.

Seems like it’s a dangerous week for current & ex-Arizona athletes to be driving. We suggest Matt Leinart look for a ride until this all blows over.
