English Soccer Player Makes Hospital Visit To Boy He Struck With Car

ENGLISH SOCCER PLAYER VISITS YOUNGSTER HE RAN OVER: Ever get that painful, run-down feeling? Jamie Hellawell has, thanks to soccer player Steven Gerrard:

Steve Gerrard school crossing

THE LONDON SUN reports that the Liverpool midfielder accidentally hit the 10-year-old Hellawell as he was leaving his school on Monday. Witnesses say that the boy ran out into traffic before getting bumped by Gerrard’s Bentley.

Gerrard stayed and comforted Hellawell before paramedics arrived and took the injured schoolboy to school. Mum Helen Hellawell remarked on the player’s reaction to the accident: “Steven was shocked and upset and was holding Jamie’s hand. He was lovely and waited with us until the ambulance and police arrived.”

Jamie suffered a broken leg from the hit, but was in stable condition at Alder Hey Hospital. Gerrard paid a visit to the injured youngster the following day, bringing him a couple of gifts - a signed England soccer shirt and boots worn by Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.

You know it’s a serious situation when a Liverpool guy asks a Red Devil rival for footwear, and he gladly obliges.
