I woudn't pick on you for your like of any band, its all personal…but really when did radio play mean relevency. Dont hear alot of U2 or Radiohead on the radio these days…When's the last time Bob Dylan was played on the radio….even Uncle Bruce is not often played…anyway you should just check out the ticket sells and maybe even attend a show, just a suggestion.

If I hadn’t mentioned Oasis, I doubt I’d have gotten this violent a reaction, which makes this all the more amusing.

Don’t take my word for it on Vedder & Co., trying turning on the radio and hearing anything he’s done in the past 10 years.

Nothing riles up 30 year old white people quite like ripping on Pearl Jam. WOW.

“Shame on you for flaunting your ignorance” - what the F?? Dude, its his site, hence, its his opinion. You don’t need “research and evidence” to support what is essentially an opinion on music. Its completely subjective. And “they sell out coliseums everwhere” is NOT supporting evidence of their current greatness. So you bought your ticket because “Binaural” was an american classic? Really?

A lot of people who know a sh*tload about music seem to think that Pearl Jam peaked on their first album. Thats not to say they sucked every album after that (No Code not withstanding), that’s just to say that Ten was legendary, and they’ve been very, very good ever since.

If you think about it, Pearl Jam is like the Mike Mussina of the sports world. Mussina was hall of fame great in his first full season in ‘92, and, though he’s been fantastic ever since, has never approached the numbers of that first year. (see what I did there? This is a sports related site…just thought I’d remind everyone)

And the crack about the hairline? Really? Are we 8 years old??

This is a terribly unprofessional article. While no one rational expects every journalist to be an expert on all matters, it is reasonable to expect that if someone is going to write about something, they should at least put some effort into researching the material. You very clearly have made no effort to do so. Shame on you for flaunting your ignorance. I hope that you find another line of work, because it is clear that you are in way over your head in this one.

I love your site but you have been sleeping under a rock for the last ten years. Eddie and his band are probably the most influential American band to come along in the last several decades. I call them The Who of our generation. T-t-t-t-t-t-t aling ’bout my generation. Also Eddie composed the music for Into The Wild.

Ignoring the fact that PJ just finished a successful tour playing full amphitheatres and arenas (including 2 sold out MSG) on the East coast, attracting people from all over the world…so much for Indian Casinos.

the song ” All the way” was written and premièred LAST YEAR, at a private fan-club Lollapalooza warm up show at The Vic theatre …so much for ‘capitalising on the Cubs’ possible breakthrough season’ (Vedder has been a vocal, and often derided for it, supporter of the cubs since..forever)

How anyone can disregard albums such as No code, and yield as being irrelevant is beyond me. Perhaps you were just after your moment in the spotlight, and wanted to be heard, good luck to you, but you are not only an imbecile, you know nothing.

If oasis could be half the band Pearl Jam they would be extremely happy, instead they will have to continue being the beatles cover band they have unwittingly become.

Being an Oasis fan, you wouldn’t know the difference between bad and good music to start with. Irrelevant here. The fact that a group like Pearl Jam still exists, still sells out coliseums everywhere, does more for charity than you will ever know, is also all irrelevant to your post. Vedder has been traveling to sing at the seventh inning stretch for years, slightly more than your selfless ‘privately pulling for the cubs’ attitude. But why make it personal ? It would be like someone making fun of your terrible grammar or spelling (for someone who ‘writes’, or saying to you “the last time you were relevant you had a hairline closer to your face”. But who would say that ?
