Dwyane Wade has always embraced his hometown of Chicago. He played his college ball just up Interstate 94 in Milwaukee and he’s made his South Side roots the cornerstone of his public persona. He’s connected enough to his hometown that rumors fly every year about Wade potentially getting traded to the Bulls; it just seems to make sense to people.
So, what kind of place would a celebrity Chicago native (and housing market expert) be expected to use as a swingin’ bachelor pad during his time back in his hometown? For Dwyane Wade, the answer is evidently this newly-remodeled $1.7 million townhome in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. We’ve got the virtual tour; decide after the jump whether it looks like a great place for a weed-smoking sex party to you.
According to CHICAGO MAGAZINE, Wade got a heck of a deal - relatively speaking - on the townhome, paying $1,425,000 on a list price of $1,699,000. The home’s listing describes it thusly (edited for readability):
Fabulous 3900+ square foot luxury riverfront, newly remodelled townhome In Kinzie Park. Hardwood Floors In Living room, dining room, kitchen, stairs; slate floors in foyer & family room - opens to fenced yard on river’s edge. Fireplaces in living room and master bedroom; kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counters, wine cooler & custom wet bar. Balcony with gas grill adjacent to kitchen, river view Master Suite and Caesarstone Quartz Cntrs, marble floors, steam shower & soaking tub, closet organizers. Rooftop terrace w/great views. 2 car garage + 2 additional spaces at $40,000 each.
According to the CHICAGO MAG writeup, the townhouse was built in 2000 and “newly remodeled,” though it’s not like a 9-year-old townhouse was some sort of rat trap yet. In any case, it’s a pretty sweet place for a crash pad. Think he’ll mind if we pop by for some Goldfish crackers and Milanos?
