Hernandez, a self-proclaimed Yankees fan, drove her car through a group of Sox fans after an argument in a local bar. But, according to prosecutor Susan Morrell, Hernandez had an explanation for her vehicular assault:

(Hernandez) told police she’d argued with a group of people, and was upset and angry when they chased her from the area.

“She indicated to police that she wanted to scare the group of people,” Morrell said. “She thought they would get out of the way.”

New further details have also emerged about the night of the incident. After leaving the bar, Hernandez also reportedly assaulted another woman before she got into her car. Some of the Red Sox fans supposedly started to chase Hernandez as she drove away:

Hernandez then turned her Dodge Intrepid around on Beech Street, and drove back through the parking lot toward a group of people at the Elm Street end of the lot.”

She never braked, and she accelerated at a high speed for about 200 feet. She went directly at this group of people,” Morrell said.

In addition to witness statements, police documented and studied the tire tracks Hernandez’s car left across the lot, she said. “There were no swerve marks. There were no brake marks,” Morrell said.

When police arrived, Hernandez was still at the scene, but refused to take any sobriety tests. If convicted of murder, Hernandez could be sentence to life in prison.

In the meantime, in the wake of Beaudoin’s death, RED SOX MONSTER is petitioning the Boston club to honor the fallen fan by celebrating a day in his honor.

All this just because someone said the Yankees sucked.

When told of the news, New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez put the back of his hand to his forehead and was heard to exclaim, “Oh my gracious!” before fainting on the clubhouse floor.
