Jed, please tell me you've got more to offer than that "reading to school children" line. If Bush had gotten up instantly and left the room, he'd been criticized for "scaring the children!" And if the notion of defending ourselves after an attack and then liberating 50 million people from a tyrant causes some other countries not to "like" us, so be it. Those same countries will be the ones begging the U. S. for help whenever their next crisis occurs. If you doubt it, read some history books.

Thank God Bush was President on 9/11, James? What on Earth do you think he did on 9/11 that any other President wouldn't have done, well, beyond continuing to read My Pet Goat to schoolchildren. Yeah, that sure was decisive leadership.As for his post-9/11 actions, we'd be a lot safer from terrorism if our military wasn't stretched to the breaking point and if the Bush Administration didn't fan the flames of anti-Americanism worldwide.

At least this "ludicrously unsuccessful" president had the courage to stand up for what he believed in regardless of ratings. I guess we'll soon find out if appeasing terrorists is as effective as eliminating terrorists. Thank God Bush was president on 9/11. Otherwise, we'd still be sitting back begging the terrorists not to hurt us again.
