They better throw the book at OSU and make AJ’s 4 game suspension look like a cake walk. Ridiculous - and I love that there was not a mention on ESPN. SMH.

Wow! Ohio St. is about to be smoked. Tressell will be gone. Their 2011 season is going to be a waste and the 2010 season will show all L’s except the bowl game win b/c the NCAA cleared the Tattoo5 to play.

It’s still amazing to me that Tressell never reported the email he rec’d in April 2010 to Gee or Smith. Amazing.

Amen Katie! I hope they destroy Ohio State right now…pulverize them and set a precedent, NCAA.

Not a chance rickp… Tuscaloosa is clean as a whistle and Auburn will be in the waste pile with OSU and Oregon shortly. Wishful thinking is going to get you there.

Looks like they found nothing on Auburn and moved on to OSU.

    Tuscaloosa next?

Did any of the commentors actually read any of this? The big issues, failure to monitor and lack of institutional control are not here. Osu getting “smoked” will be at worst 2010 wins vacated and maybe a 1 yr postseason ban. At least they can keep the sugar bowl win from this season. 2010 record; 1-0

Good possibility that the Ohio State football team STILL hasn’t beaten the SEC in a bowl game

Actually, Joe, the only game that would stand would be the bowl game win against Arkansas. You must be an SEC fan (hopefully you can read this).

jheb, they don’t turn wins into losses….if they vacate 2010, the Buckeyes record will be 1-0.

And the Sugar Bowl win stands no matter what…the NCAA cleared the players for that game.

Are you kidding me? The Sugar Bowl win will NOT stand. The NCAA didn’t know that Tressel lied to them. That means that the season will be vacated for using ineligible players.

This also goes into “lack of institutional control” as the coach himself was part of the conspiracy.

    SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSMOKIN’

He should just resign and go work for ESPN for a couple of years….

Jeff, the NCAA cleared the players based off of LIES by the vest. The bowl game may be vacated as well. OSU 0-9-0 bowl record against the SEC…the one win is currently pending.

I am sick and tired of the prima donna treatment given to college athletes. Scholarships are given to them and they have no intent to stay in school to get a degree. All they want is a stepping stone to pro sports. More deserving students are denied the chance to go to some schools because of this practice. Now a top coach of a top program cannot abide by the rules. What does that show the students. Disgusting. Get rid of him. He blew it.

Shut down the Overrated State! Ban them from all college sports so we don’t have to hear about them anymore.

“The big issues, failure to monitor and lack of institutional control are not here. ”

According to ESPN’s Bruce Feldman, his NCAA sources say that a failure to monitor or lack of institutional control charge can be levied by the COI after the hearing.

Ohio State’s compliance department was given a pass before the Sugar Bowl because they presumably failed to properly educate the athletes about the bylaws pertaining to selling awards and university issued equipment.

If you notice on page 3, point g, the NCAA is asking for a statement describing your rules education pertaining to selling awards and equipment, dating all the way back to the 2007 school year.

If the NCAA discovers that you DID provide adequate educational information in this area, they will have to admit that Ohio State lied to them back in December.

By no stretch of imagination should any Ohio State fan feel they’ve dodged the bullet at this point.

All the lying going on at that university should make even the most ardent Buckeye fan blush just a teensy bit.

Dan, you have been wrong throughout this OSU scandal and you’ll probably be wrong some more. The chances of the 2011 bowl game standing is about 50/50. Good luck with that — 0-9-0 OSU vs SEC Bowl record (2011 bowl game pending Vest investigation)

So Dan, let me get this straight -

Your school (OSU) has more total NCAA violations than ANY OTHER FBS university in the USA during the last 10 years.

Your coach lied numerous times during this latest fiasco, despite his holier than thou facade he religiously promotes. Even going so far as to publish a fake book espousing his fake values.

Your state is an economic hell hole due in part to the sub par graduates your university produces.

Your school has beaten an SEC team in a bowl game once out of 10 games….and it appears you had to cheat to do it.

And you want to question whether an SEC fan can read…

I am going to assume you can read….ENJOY
