Although Cavs fans have every right to feel bitter and disappointed, no one begrudges James for opting for free agency. That's the whole point of working toward free agency. To be able to chose your team, using whatever criteria is important to you, and negotiating for the best possible contract.

At the same time, not even Miami fans, can possibly defend the disrespectful manner in which James made the announcement to the Cavs owner and his loyal legion of fans who spent hard earned money in a depressed economy to buy James' gear.

That being said, I don't think James thought beyond the announcement. While this media disaster is the best thing that could have happened to the NBA (I know I can't wait for the season to start) outside of Florida, James is now commercially impotent as fans from every team but Miami sympathize with Cleveland's fans. And not only will James' toxic image affect his ability to sell gear outside of Florida, but the entire Miami Heat organization will suffer from guilt by association.

Can't wait for the season to start.

The sad truth for LRMR and Queen Lebrunaway is that if his goal was to become a billionaire, win championships and market the Lebrunaway image into Tiger or Jordan-like $$, he just screwed the pooch big time. Becoming the bad guy never leads to marketing billions. Jordan and Kobe were able to win championships as the go to guy on their team and the unquestioned best player on their teams. Lebrunaway will never be able to make that claim. Even when Miami picks up a championship at some point in the next 3 years, it will be D-Wades team and Lebrunaway had to join Wade and his team to win one. Jordan never had to do that. Kobe never left LA. Those two suffered through some losing seasons before they cracked through to the title, but they stayed the course. So when it comes to legacy, Lebrunaway has tainted his & his legacy big time. He will never be and never should be looked at in the same light as a Jordan or Kobe because he "had to" join his Super Friends in Miami before he could win one. D-wade has and now will always be a Miami Heat player and he has already won a championship without Lebrunaway at his side. Even when they do win one, it will now look like D-Wade and his talented sidekicks got the job done. Not the "Queen" of the regular season, but D-wade will still be the main man in Miami fan's hearts with an "atta boy" thrown in to Lebrunaway and Co.

And that is the real story out of all of this: For all of his physical talent, Lebrunaway has admitted that at the end of the day he is no Jordan and no Kobe, but merely a role player on a team of superstars. Do you think you would have ever heard Jordan or Kobe mention and even be prouf of the fact that he doesn't have to be "on" every night and be the "go-to" guy every night? The answer is NO. They relish that role and Lebrunaway obviously does not. That's fine and all, but since that is the case, stop referring to him as the King or even the Prince. In Gilligan's Island parlance, D-wade is the Skipper and Lebrunaway is his little Buddy and that much has been established. Jordan was King of the NBA realm. Kobe is king of the current realm. Lebrunaway just admitted via an hour long media masturbationfest with himself that he is not and never was capable of mentally being the King. He is a freakishly talented and equally freakishly stupid and self loving duke at best as evidenced by "the decision".

The issue is not that Lebrunaway left, because that was his right. It is how and where. He had many choices in "the decision" and from the perspective of what his legacy will now be and how this will affect the Lebrunaway "brand" for marketing, he just took an immense shit in his hat. Add to this that there will forever be a debate now attached to Lebrunaways future rings of who was the best player on the Heat an none of this played out well. I'm not sure if he is that stupid or if his high school educated posse that makes up LRMR is that stupid, but whoever is in charge dropped the ball big time. But then again, Lebrunaway always has been dropping the ball when it matters most, so why should we have expected different here?

To sum it up, LeBron exercised his right in free agency. The way he did it was classless & should not be refered to as the king. He has joined Wade's Kingdom now. The talk about championships is nice, but I don't see these 3 co-existing over a long period of time sharing the ball. Too much ego involved. Let the Miami fans have their fun now, come NBA championship time they won't be on these forums because their team won't be there. I see Boston, Orlando, & maybe Chicago depending on moves being much deeper & complete TEAMS. Miami has no draft picks or salary cap space for a awhile. If they don't get it right away, this will be known as biggest blunder ever. Pressures on.

i think the general manager comment about bad karma is very childish and just to let him know "who god bless no man cure" and lebron knows that, so stop sweating him. the people who hate him for his decision should just shut up and leave him alone, how many of you can make decision for yourself, without being influence by others
