DESPITE BULLS BEAT, SMITH MORE INTERESTED IN BEARS? In a column in the CHICAGO TRIBUNE this week, Rick Morrissey writes, “Jerry Krause once had a fake business card made up for Tribune pro basketball reporter Sam Smith that identified Smith as the Bulls’ general manager.
“That’s because Smith is always proposing trades in his column. As long as we’re psychoanalyzing, I believe Sam plays GM in the newspaper because he’s bored to death with the regular season like the rest of us.”
Speaking of psychoanalysis and fake lives, Sam recently professed his disdain for underwear-clad sports bloggers, which makes me wonder if the Bull beat reporter doesn’t have more of an interest in Chicago Bears.
