AT&T AD STRATEGY LEANS ON SANDERS IN SHOWER SHOES: AT&T has a new online advertisement featuring sports celebrities called “Home Turf”, which is supposed to get us excited about hooking up our homes with AT&T entertainment systems. The focus is on exploring the homes of pro basketball, basketball and football players.

Our favorite part of the nominally amusing videos is Deion Sanders in his house in Florida. The short vignette featuring his abode has Sanders in a bathrobe and pajamas, riding a scooter (wtf?) around his house and surrounded by his kids, who obviously aren’t too enthused about being on-camera. Sadly, Sanders doesn’t impart more wit and wisdom on the overblown nature of the Michael Vick dogfighting charges.

Sanders is also forced into the segment on David Ortiz, who lives in Green Bay, WI., thanks to his wife Tiffany (who is a Wisconsin native). Lame dialogue ensues between the two, none of which is worth recounting.
After looking at the site for almost 30 minutes, we still hadn’t figured out what was being offered us. Not to mention, the navigation is extremely confusing and clunky, and the Flash videos take forever to load.
Coincidentally, that sounds a lot like our calls to T-Mobile’s customer service center every week.
