D-SPIN EDITOR IN NYT CLAIMS NBA TEAMS TANKING GAMES: Deadspin Editor Will Leitch had an op-ed piece in the NEW YORK TIMES Saturday in which he wrote that it “appeared that [the Celtics] tried to lose” down the stretch of the NBA regular season to improve their chances in the league’s draft lottery.

Leitch also indicated that the Bucks, Grizzlies and Hawks appeared to be involved in dumping games as well. And worst yet was their fans “seemed perfectly O.K. with this.”

Leitch: “(If) you are rooting for your team to lose, I question just how much a fan of that team you really are.“
