Yea, I know that everyone has gripes about officiating, and the Seahawks could have done better in the Superbowl. Even the touchdown that wasn't really a touchdown could have been argued as a close call, or at least one which might have been seen as such from the official's angle of view.

And it didn't help that Seahawk season-ticket holders found they couldn't afford to go to the game, even if they got tickets in the lottery, because air fares, hotels, and car rentals were jacked up beyond belief (Steelers fans could drive to and from the game in a one-day trip). This led to it almost being a home game for the Steelers, with an overwhelmingly friendly crowd.

But any doubts I had about whether the officiating was a problem were resolved when the Seahawk quarterback was penalized for clipping when he tackled a Steeler who had intercepted his pass. Sure, he shouldn't have thrown the interception. But CLIPPING? Since when is a tackle "CLIPPING?"

And then after it was all over, the NFL had the never to say that overall, it was a "very well officiated game".

What's even wierder than Seattle fans trying to convince everyone that they were robbed, is them trying to convince everyone that the entire city of Pittsburgh is insecure over the issue.

Ummm… guys, this may sound crazy to you, but we really don't care about a bunch of baseless accusations and really never did care. I've seen way worse calls than that cost the Steelers games, and you know what? I got over it.

Now onto this year's Super Bowl, where if we win we can look forward to another round of crazy accusations from another novice fanbase.

I don't think the refs let Willie Parker run for the longest touchdown in Supe history. They didn't leave Hines Ward uncovered on that 40-some yard flea flicker, either. Maybe the Seahawks should take some responsibility for the outcome???
