PATRICK COULD STILL LAND AT SPORTING NEWS RADIO: Turns out Dan Patrick could end up on Sporting News Radio after all. The CHICAGO TRIBUNE reports this week that The Content Factory, which last week inked a five-year deal with Patrick, was founded by Jimmy de Castro, who “has strong connections” with Patrick’s brother, Sporting News Radio Program Director Bill Pugh.

If de Castro thinks most of Patrick’s former ESPN affiliates are willing to take his show on live during drive time hours, he’s sadly mistaken. Most of Patrick’s affiliates revolted when he first went solo after Rob Dibble departed. Keith Olbermann was then brought in to save the day.
A remedy for garnering affiliates in the earlygoing for Patrick would be to partner with SNR, which could also handle the nuts and bolts of distribution.
