SOX FAN MAY BUY CUBS, TAKE LOVABLE OUT OF LOSERS: With the 100-year anniversary of the Cubs last World Series win on the horizon, the WALL STREET JOURNAL has news today that may foul up the *celebration*.

Billionaire Sam Zell has “become the leading suitor for Tribune Co.” with an $8B bid for the company.

The Cubs are owned by the Tribune Co., and Zell happens to already own a stake in the White Sox.

A special Tribune Co. board will covene this week to make a final decision on Zell’s offer. I’m guessing that it might not happen, considering the White Sox investor might actually expect to win a World Series.
