The Cubs are owned by the Tribune Co., and Zell happens to already own a stake in the White Sox.

A special Tribune Co. board will covene this week to make a final decision on Zell’s offer. I’m guessing that it might not happen, considering the White Sox investor might actually expect to win a World Series.
