Could the A\’s Invest in Bonds?

With Frank Thomas heading to the Toronto Blue Jays, the Oakland A’s may try to replace one aging slugger with another.

FANBALL reports that Oakland and Barry Bonds have shown a mutual interest this off-season.

A’s managing partner Lewis Wolff told MLB.com, “Statistically, Barry is terrific, but you know how we operate. We’re going to stay in a certain budget.”

A move to the American League could extend Bonds’ career. If Barroids is willing to drop his price to a per diem and a box of Cracker Jacks, he just might fit in Billy Beane’s budget.
